Manufacturing Processes in PCB Technology

At KingSunPCB, we follow strict, standardized manufacturing processes to ensure each PCB meets high-quality, performance, and reliability standards. From prototyping to high-volume production, our advanced facilities support a full range of PCB technologies.

1. PCB Design & CAM Engineering

We start by reviewing customer Gerber files and engineering data. Our CAM team optimizes layouts for manufacturability, signal integrity, and cost efficiency.

2. Material Preparation

Base materials like FR4, aluminum, or ceramic are cut to size. Copper foil is laminated onto the substrate to prepare for circuit formation.

3. Inner Layer Imaging & Etching

Using photoresist and UV light, circuit patterns are transferred to the copper surface. Excess copper is etched away, forming the conductive traces.

4. Lamination (for multilayer PCBs)

Multiple layers are aligned and pressed together under heat and pressure to form a solid multilayer board.

5. Drilling & Hole Plating

Precise drilling creates holes for vias and through-hole components. These holes are then copper-plated to establish vertical electrical connections.

6. Outer Layer Imaging & Etching

Similar to the inner layers, outer copper layers are patterned and etched to create the final circuit layout.

7. Surface Finishing

We apply surface finishes like ENIG, HASL, or OSP to protect copper pads and improve solderability during assembly.

8. Solder Mask & Silkscreen

A protective solder mask is applied to prevent short circuits. Component markings and logos are printed using silkscreen.

9. Electrical Testing

All PCBs undergo 100% electrical testing to verify continuity and isolation, ensuring zero defects.

10. Final Inspection & Packaging

Finished boards are inspected visually and dimensionally. Once approved, they’re vacuum-packed and safely shipped worldwide.

Applications of PCB Technology

PCB technology is essential to the operation of almost every electronic device today. From everyday consumer gadgets to complex aerospace systems, printed circuit boards enable connectivity, control, and performance. At KingSunPCB, our advanced manufacturing capabilities support a wide range of applications across multiple industries. Whether you need high-frequency boards for communication, rugged PCBs for automotive, or heat-resistant solutions for LED lighting, we deliver tailored, high-reliability solutions to meet your project’s demands.

Ensuring Reliability in PCB Technology

Certified Manufacturing Standards

We are ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 certified, ensuring every PCB meets international quality and environmental standards.

Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)

Each board is inspected with AOI to detect solder mask defects, trace breaks, and component misalignment before final testing.

X-ray and Electrical Testing

X-ray ensures via and BGA reliability, while flying probe or test fixture checks every electrical connection on your PCB.

DFM and CAM Reviews

We conduct full DFM, impedance, and CAM reviews to optimize your design for better manufacturability and fewer production errors.

In-Process Quality Monitoring

Key metrics like plating thickness, lamination pressure, and via hole quality are monitored during fabrication to ensure consistency.

Traceability & Quality Reports

All PCBs are traceable with detailed quality reports, giving you full transparency from raw material to finished product.
